Check out the trailer for James Bond: Skyfall

After having dealt with some financial issues, MGM is finally ready to make a return to the James Bond franchise. Daniel Craig will also be making a return as the iconic MI6 agent in an all new adventure entitled, Skyfall. Bond's relationship with M (Judi Dench) is tested after she reveals dark secrets concerning her past and an attack on MI6 headquarters spurs Bond to track down and eliminate the threat. While the new trailer indicates 007 will enthrall us with his suave style, fast paced action and cunning intuition, there is another aspect of the spy that Skyfall will explore.

Director of Skyfall, Sam Mendes has stated that the film will explore the troubled psyche of James Bond. Skyfall will break from the usual Bond formula and we won't see a fearless, untroubled, Bond who is constantly able to focus under pressure. Bond's inner demons will be explored as he regrets his past, his career choice and may even suffer from depression. Bond was a much more complex character in the novels written by Ian Flemming and in Skyfall, Bond will suffer from these complexities that true spies have to endure.

Craig is easily capable of fleshing out Bond's character in these ways as well, especially after his performance in the thriller, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Craig has already been at work talking with real-life agents to prepare for his role as this new guilt-ridden James Bond. The movie is set to be released on October 26, 2012 in the U.K. and the U.S. release should follow shortly after. Check out the teaser trailer for Skyfall below.
