Elder Scrolls MMO announced by Zenimax Studios
After years of speculation the long-awaited Elder Scrolls MMO has finally been announced. If you're a fan of the Elder Scrolls series and you're a subscriber of Gameinformer, you'll have your head buried in their massive cover story for their June issue.
The Elder Scrolls Online is exploring a completely new story-line set a thousand years before the events of the latest game, Skyrim. Gameinformer teased players will be able to traverse across all continents of Tamriel which means we'll get to explore entirely new lands such as Elsweyr and revisit familiar locations like Cyrodil and Skyrim. Having a massive and open world available to explore and quest throughout is mind-blowing. I can't even imagine just how insanely big the Tamriel will really be. It should also be interesting to visit locations we are familiar with and see how similar Cyrodil or Skyrim are to their respective titles. The story follows the the Deadric Prince, Molag Bal as he attempts to claim Tamriel as part of his demonic realm.
The game is being directed by Matt Firor who promises the ambitious team working on the game is prepared to create the best MMO experience to date. It sounds like a tall task; I'm not a huge MMO person but I'd play one if it looked and played similar to something like Skyrim or even Oblivion. However, as an MMO that is just massive in scale, I realize that may be hoping for too much but I guess only time will tell. Be sure to read Gameinformer's cover story in the June issue which will cover solo play, public quests, and the PvP component of the game. Also keep an eye out tomorrow for the first teaser trailer and a screenshot which I will be posting as well.
